Lindalyn Bennett Adams

We are proud to honor Lindalyn Bennett Adams as our 2019 Key Honoree. Lindalyn is a devoted civic volunteer and leader. She is currently Senior Officer at the Baylor Scott & White Dallas Foundation.

She has served as President or Chairman of many Dallas non-profits over the years, including Dallas Historical Society, Dallas Heritage Village, Dallas County Historical Commission, Dallas County Medical Society Alliance, Medical Center Woman’s Club, Faculty Women’s Club of Southwestern Medical School, Dallas Opera Woman’s Board, Dallas Symphony Women’s Board, The Junior League of Dallas’ Ball, The Crystal Charity Ball, and Old City Park Ball. She is a founder and President of The Sixth Floor Museum, and a founder and co-chairman of La Fiesta de las Seis Banderas of the Park Cities and Friends of the Old Red Courthouse.

Lindalyn has received numerous awards and recognition for her dedicated service to our community. She received the Linz Award, the SMU Distinguished Alumni Award, Highland Park High School Distinguished Aluma Award. She has received Lifetime Achievement Awards at the Junior League of Dallas, Girl Scouts of North Texas, and Preservation Dallas. Lindalyn received the DAR Medal of Honor, the Texas Historical Commission’s Ruth Lester Award, The Garden Club of America Award for Historic Preservation, the President’s Award of Texas Association Of Museums, the Leadership Award of Texas Women’s University, The Ima Hogg Historical Achievement Award of The University of Texas American History Center, Outstanding Historical Commission Chairman in Texas (3 times), Texas Daughters of the American Revolution Historic Preservation Award, Equest Award, Volunteer Center Lifetime Achievement Award, Freedoms Foundation’s Valley Forge Award of Merit, National Society of Fundraising Executives Fundraiser of the Year, Flora Award of Texas Discovery Gardens, and several other local recognitions.

Lindalyn was married to the late Dr. Reuben Adams, and they have three wonderful sons, 10 grandchildren and now 5 great grandchildren! In her words "I am greatly blessed!" We have all been so greatly blessed by Lindalyn's tireless work for the benefit of others.

Louise Spence Griffeth

We are thrilled to have Louise Griffeth, one of the original co-founders of Tablescapes in 1995, as the Honorary Tablescapes Chairman for 2019.

Louise pledged Kappa at the University of Texas at Austin. Her mother, sister and grandmother are all Kappas as well. She has been very active in the Dallas Alumnae Association and a huge supporter of Tablescapes for the past 25 years. Louise has served as President of the Kappa Junior Alum Group and has served on the SMU Gamma Phi House Board and on the Foundation Board. She received the Kappa Distinguished Alumnae Award and was a Tablescapes Key Honoree.

In addition to all her many Kappa responsibilities and achievements, Louise is also a leader in our community. She has served on the Junior League of Dallas Board of Directors six times, including as Ball Chair and Community VP. She has chaired the Crystal Charity Ball. She founded the Equest Auxiliary and later received the Equest Community Service Award and Woman of the Year. She received the Texas Discovery Garden’s Flora Award. She is a past President of the Women of St. Michael and All Angels Church. She currently serves on the Salvation Army Board and the Bullock Texas State History Museum Foundation Board in Austin and chaired its Texas Independence Day Gala.

She and her husband of 46 years, Guy, have two sons, Spence and Teal and a daughter-in-law Annie.
