Jan Hegi

Kappa Tablescapes celebrates 28 years by honoring SMU Kappa Alumna Jan Hegi as our Honorary Chair.

After graduating from SMU with a degree in Elementary Education, she remained actively involved with Kappa Kappa Gamma serving as a chapter council advisor for Gamma Phi in the early 1990s and attended the National Kappa Convention in Arizona.

Jan and her husband, Fred, moved to the Park Cities in 1982 with their two sons, Peter and Brian. She participated in numerous HPISD organizations, leading numerous school activities and events.

Jan is a member of the Dallas Woman’s Club, the Dallas Garden Club, served on the board of Interfaith Housing Coalition, and was a co-founder of The Stewpot Alliance.

She is also the proud grandmother of two granddaughters, Kate and Mary Allison, who both pledged Kappa at SMU!

Louise Griffeth

Each year, the Tablescapes Chairmen select an outstanding member of our alumnae group to serve as the Platinum Key Honoree. We can think of no one more deserving than Kappa Tablescapes co-founder, Louise Griffeth.

Louise pledged Kappa at the University of Texas. Her mother, sister and grandmother were all Kappas as well. She has been an integral part of the Dallas Alumnae Association serving as President of the Kappa Junior Alum Group as well as serving on the SMU Gamma Phi House Board and on the Foundation Board. Louise has also received the Kappa Distinguished Alumnae Award.

Her deep commitment to the community includes numerous other organizations including the Bullock Texas State History Museum Foundation Board, Crystal Charity Ball, Equest, the Junior League of Dallas, the Salvation Army, Sons of the Flag, and St. Michael and All Angels Church. Louise and her husband of nearly 50 years, Guy, have two sons, Spence and Teal, and a daughter-in-love, Annie.
